Week 2: Matcha Green Smoothie
If you like Matcha Latte’s or Matcha tea in general, you are going to like this one!! If you don’t like matcha or to keep it kid friendly since there is some caffeine in matcha tea, simply omit the matcha and you will get a fun creamy green smoothie! If you are sensitive to caffeine in the afternoon or evenings make sure to drink this in the morning or for an early afternoon boost….
I love matcha because it is high in antioxidants and gives me a little energizing boost! Green tea has been shown to increase your metabolism too :)
Ingredients:
1 cup of almond milk (or any plant based milk of choice)
1 cup of water
1 Tbs of almond butter
1 tsp of matcha powder
3 fresh dates or 1-2 tsp of honey (I like the honey and matcha combo but you can use maple syrup too)
1/2 banana (or simply use ice cubes)
1/2 cup of spinach (or any greens)
*You can always add in a scoop of plant based protein powder to keep you going longer or for an after workout smoothie!
*if you want an extra creamy smoothie, simply add 2 cups of almond milk instead of the water
How to:
Put all your ingredients into the blender, and blend until you get a nice smooth consistency
