January Challenge
Join me for this month’s challenge! The theme is let’s get moving outdoors….Since we can’t do this as a group and with the new restrictions put in place, I figured it would be the perfect time to get this going.
The idea is to get you outside and to move each day. I know it’s not always easy, but even if you can get out for 10-15 min that’s great! I promise you, a little exercise and fresh air will do you some good :)
Each week I will suggest an outdoor activity to try out during the week plus making sure to get outdoors and move 15-60 min daily. Ideally you get out for 2x longer periods and then the rest is up to you…
Let’s motivate each other to get out there and move. Make sure each week to send me pics to prove you got outside and you will be entered into a draw to win some fun prizes! It would be awesome if some of you can post up on Instagram or Facebook and tag Studio Vie so I know you put something up.
Message me for more details and to sign up! The challenge starts today and I will post up each Saturday the new activity for the week.
WEEK 1 (starting today Jan 9th):
Snowshoeing
Since we couldn’t be together this weekend for the snowshoe fit class, I figured it would be a good idea to get you to do it on your own or with your family! You don’t have to go far to get in a great snowshoe workout. My favourite spot is Murray Hill Park since it’s close (if you live in the NDG area) and you get some hills to do some intervals on. Get to your local park and try it out. I like to make sure to include hill intervals where you can walk or run up and then back down, squats, tricep dips and push-ups on a bench, plank and side plank! Give it a try, I promise you will get a great workout in.
**If you don’t have a pair of snowshoes try and borrow one from a friend or family and otherwise get out for a walk and make sure you get in some intervals with some hills, stairs or pick up the pace!
**If you can’t get outside then make sure to do some stair intervals inside!
Have fun and let me know how it went.
Examples of other outdoor activities to include in your week:
walking
nordic walking or hiking
tobogonning (as long as you walk up the hill each time!)
Playing outdoors with the kids
winter running
**More to come…
