Stay Active this Back to School Season!
Back to school for most parents usually means back to a very busy schedule, taking little time for themselves. This back to school season, let’s try and find ways to stay active! It’s important to prioritize movement every day even if you don’t have time for an official workout, class or what not.
Tips to make it happen:
Remember that you don’t have to carve out 1hr to have a proper workout session, walk etc. There will be days where even getting in 5-20min is more realistic so you make the most of it!
Schedule in some classes or trainings each week that way you have to check in and commit. This will make you more consistent!
Find a workout, walking or biking buddy. It helps to have someone that you have to meet up with to go for a walk, bike or attend a particular class. This will keep you more accountable.
Find some stairs (outdoors or in your house) and do those 5-10x up and down!
Do an at home squat, plank challenge! Here is an example of the plank and squat challenge we did last fall:

Go out for a walk! It’s simple, easy, get some fresh air and great for you.
Get fresh air on a lunchtime break, walk to your kids school to drop them off or pick up, bring your workout outside.
Try skipping!
Include your baby or kids into the workout if you don’t have any alone time.
Go easy on yourself! Know that during a busy time of year, you might not be able to get in a regular routine, but you can still squeeze in small amounts which are still beneficial.
