Blueberry Chia Jam
I love to make this fresh blueberry jam especially each summer when we go blueberry picking….you can also use frozen blueberries if they are not in season or strawberries is another favorite of mine for this recipe.
It’s simple, healthy and yummy recipe…try it out!
Ingredients:
2 cups of blueberries (fresh or frozen and you can use strawberries as another option)
1/2 lemon juice fresh squeezed
2 Tbs of chia
2 Tbs of maple syrup
4-6 Tbs of water
How to:
Put your blueberries in a small pan
I like to add 4 Tbs of water (to make sure that when you start warming it all up that the blueberries don’t burn the pan)
Add in the maple syrup and lemon juice
Start to mush the blueberries as you heat them up in the pan with the other liquids, and then once things are melting together, add in your chia
Continue to stir until the blueberries are all cooked and the consistency gets thicker (since the chia will make it jelly like)
Let cool and transfer into a mason jar
*Keep in the fridge since it doesn’t keep as long as a regular jam so enjoy it on your yogurt, toast and pancakes
**If you want the consistency of the jam to be more smooth, put it in a blender and blend it up until you reach your desired consistency.
Enjoy
