With the holidays coming up, the last thing you want is to spend 5 days in bed with the flu! Yoga can do wonders for your immune system; by stimulating the lymphatic system as well as encouraging detoxification, so as to protect you from days in bed watching soap operas and drinking copeous amounts of ginger ale!Thymus TapWith a fist or with index and middle finger, tap 20-30 times around the middle upper chest and around the collar bone. Often called the thymus reset. Want to ramp this up a notch? Combine the thymus tap with dry skin brushing and a thermal circuit (alternating hot and cold shower).Child's Pose : balasana     Light and supported inversions are great to promote lymphatic circulations through the nose and throat. With your knees either wide or together, sit back on your heels and bring your forehead to your mat or to a block. Stay here 5 or more breath cycles.Chair Twist: parivrita utkatasana     Stimulate your digestive system with a twist! Twists massage the internal organs, helping to detoxify the body; they wring toxins and stress from your system. Take 5 breaths, and repeat on the other side. With feet and knees together bring the weight back into your heels as if you were sitting in a chair. With your hands together in front of your heart, twist to your right, hook your left elbow on your right knee.  And most importantly, breathe! We know that stress can take a toll on our immune system, so make sure to take some time out of your day to take 3 deep breaths.Martina Sedivec, certified yoga instructor and teaches at Studio Vie
